Supporting Relationships and Behaviour

Supporting relationships and behaviour remain at the heart of the work North Ayrshire EPS are doing in North Ayrshire. We are working collaboratively with our educational establishments and parents/carers and young people to take forward the recommendations made in the Scottish Government documents – Relationships and behaviour in schools: national action plan 2024 to 2027 and Fostering a positive, inclusive and safe environment: guidance.

In NA, this is taken forward through our universal, targeted and intensive approaches such as whole school nurture,  restorative practice, Building on Positive Relationships (taken from NVR) and Positive Behaviour Support as well as implementing the CALM approach to de-escalating situations.

This year we will be further developing our training offer in terms of building ‘New Authority’; expectations and consequences; emotion coaching and functional behavioural analysis rooted in PBS.
