We continue to seek ways to safely support children, young people and their families alongside staff as we move into the recovery phase after lockdown. As guidance changes we will seek to update this section accordingly. The following links provide relevant information as it stands currently.
This is a time of uncertainty and change for us all. North Ayrshire Psychological Service and our Mental Health and Wellbeing team are committed to supporting children and young people and their families during this potentially stressful time.

Welcome to North Ayrshire Educational Psychological Service’s website
Educational psychologists are concerned with the learning, well-being and development of children and young people from birth into young adulthood. They work collaboratively with staff, pupils, parents and other adults to help identify educational needs and strategies to meet those needs. They also carry out research and help develop policy and practice.
The educational psychologists in North Ayrshire carry out their work through community settings such as schools, nurseries and other establishments.
Gail Nowek is Principal Psychologist.
We are proud to introduce our film ‘Nurturing North Ayrshire’. This film showcases our journey so far implementing Nurture and Restorative approaches across early years, primary and secondary.
