Consultation has been recognised as one of the key functions of Educational Psychology since the Currie Report was published in 2002. The recent review of Educational Psychology Services in Scotland states that EP direct work with individual children and young people is still highly valued by stakeholders and is effective in improving outcomes. This direct work can include consultation, assessment and intervention and it is recognised that specific approaches offered by EPS such as solution oriented approaches are highly valued as well as EPs skills in facilitating meetings well by coaching and scaffolding questions.
